100 Best Louise Hay Affirmations

I first found my way into the world of positive thinking at a time when it felt like my mind was constantly working against me. I was exhausted by the same negative thought loops and knew I didn’t want to live there anymore, so I started searching for ways to consciously reprogram my mindset. That search is what led me to affirmations.

I started using affirmations I used them every day repeating them while I got ready in the morning, listening to them in the car, and coming back to the same affirmations whenever I needed to reset my mindset.

On my journey I came across Louise Hay the QUEEN of affirmations! Her affirmations were so inspiring and powerful. They reminded me that healing can start with something as simple as learning to speak to yourself with love.

Affirmations were honestly the catalyst that helped me transform my life but affirmations waren’t the only tool I used. I find they work best when I pair them with other practices like meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, and nervous system regulation so the affirmations can really reprogram the negative conditioning.

Who Was Louise Hay?

Louise Hay was a motivational teacher, author, and the founder of Hay House Publishing but more importantly, she was a pioneer in the world of self-love, affirmations, and mind-body healing.

Her bestselling book You Can Heal Your Life introduced millions of people to the idea that our thoughts, beliefs, and emotional patterns directly influence our health, relationships, and life experiences.

What made Louise’s teaching so powerful was that it came from lived experience. After overcoming a deeply traumatic childhood and later healing from cancer, she dedicated her life to helping others:

  • release limiting beliefs
  • practice self-forgiveness
  • speak to themselves with compassion
  • create a life rooted in worthiness and love

Her core message was simple and revolutionary:

Healing begins the moment you choose to love and approve of yourself.

And that message is still at the heart of every affirmation practice we use today.

Designed for daily guidance, intention setting, or intuitive pulls, these cards help you embody Louise Hay’s core teaching that when you truly love yourself, your entire life begins to transform.

How to Use an Affirmation Deck Daily

Pull one card in the morning take a moment to read the card slowly and ask:

“How can I embody these words today?”

Then pause. Take a few deep breaths. Let your shoulders soften. Place your hand on your heart and repeat the affirmation out loud or in a whisper. As you say the words, allow yourself to feel them not just think them.

You don’t have to force a big feeling. For example If the affirmation is “I am safe,” imagine what safety feels like in your body, your shoulders drop… your heart beats a little slower… your breath becomes steady.

If it’s “I trust the process of life,” let your body lean back slightly, as if something is holding you.

Stay there for a few seconds.
Let the feeling spread. You’re not just saying the words you’re teaching your body a new emotional reality.

After you repeat it a few times, listen inward.

If it helps, write the affirmation in your journal and finish the sentence:
“Today I will embody this by…”

Keep the card somewhere you’ll actually see it on your desk, by your mirror, next to your bed, in your wallet, or as your phone lock screen. Then throughout the day, come back to it. Continue to Repeat the affirmation throughout your day each repetition is key.

By the end of the day, revisit the card and ask:
“Where did I live this today?”

That reflection is where the magic happens.

Why I Love Affirmation Cards

In my own journey, I’ve found that physical affirmation cards make my practice feel so much more fun grounded and real. There’s something powerful about holding a card in your hand it instantly turns my affirmations work into a grounded ritual, It helps me slow down, anchor my focus, and actually receive the words.

I love pulling a card, reading it carefully, and letting it set the tone for my day. Then I’ll keep it nearby and return to that same affirmation throughout the day especially in moments where my nervous system feels activated or my old thought patterns start creeping back in.

And honestly, the artwork on many decks feels so warm and inviting. Those visual cues matter. They soften me. They remind me I’m safe, supported, and allowed to be gentle with myself while I’m healing and shifting.

Final Thoughts

Healing doesn’t usually happen in one big breakthrough. It happens in small moments. Moments you catch yourself spiraling you pause, take a breath, go inward, and repeat kind words to yourself.

And as Louise Hay reminded us:
“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.”

So here’s your simple invitation: pick one affirmation from this list or your affirmation deck and stay with it for the next 7 days. Say it in the mirror. Whisper it during meditation. Write it at the top of your journal. Let it be your anchor.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
Which Louise Hay affirmation spoke to you the most today? And what are you working on healing or shifting right now?

If you feel comfortable, share a little about your experience. Your words might be exactly what someone else needs to read today.

With Love
